December 7-11, 2016 | Finals bound here in Las Vegas. Both horses, Shine Starlight Rose and FDD Discovery got me there. Shine Starlight Rose placed 6 in the 1D the first go and FDD Discovery won the adult incentive. So excited to be here and competing, and I couldn't do it without some amazing people helping me. October 23, 2016 | Yesterday was a great day at the Fast Moon Chic Memorial Barrel Race. Rule and Reighn ended up reserve in the 1D slot race and I also won the 2d in it as well. Smooth Little Starlight won the Derby and Disco was reserve in the open 1D and I was first and second in the 2d open. 2016 Alberta Snaffle Bit Futurity & Derby and Horse Show September 2-4
What a whirl wind of a weekend. Making the Finals in Canada's Greatest Horseman on my horse Annie's Playin Cat beside my two big brothers John Swales, Clint Swales and as well Cayley Wilson was awesome. 2016 ABRA Finals August 16 - 20
Wow another ABRA Finals is over, I had 6 horses at the finals this year and couldn't be happier with my week. I made 15 runs this week and managed to keep all the barrels up and every horse got faster every run they made. Smooth Lil Starlight owns by Suzanne Randle DePaoli won 6 in the Derby, Shine Starlight Rose owned by Greg Gartner made the short go and won 3 in the Futurity, Rule and a Reighn owned by Deeann Robertson won 7 in the first go and made the short go. The biggest surprise was Famous Mister owned by Shelley Kormilo making the short go and winning reserve in the 4d. This was his first big outing and he got faster and faster each run he made. 2016 Calgary Stampede July 14 - 15
Another Calgary Stampede is over for the Working Cowhorse. I couldn't be happier with Annie's Playin Cat and his first show in the bridle. He got me to the Open Bridle Finals against some awesome horses. We finished fourth overall against some tough competition. 2016 Bohnets Barrel Futurity July 8 - 10
Had a great weekend at Bohnets Barrel Futurity. Smooth Little Starlight owned by Suzanne DePaoli placed in every go in the derby and finished 5 over all. 2016 Cowtown Derby May 27 - 29 :: OPEN TWO-REIN CHAMPION
Couldn't have had a better weekend at the Cowtown Derby. First show back this year for Annie's Playin cat and I and we walked away winning the Open Two Rein. Saturday we marked a 143 rein and a 150 down the fence. Today a 144 rein and a 149 down the fence. Great start to the year. Calgary Stampede 2012 July 15 & 17 :: Smart Like Solanos AKA Mojo :: CALGARY STAMPEDE LIMITED OPEN BRIDLE CHAMPION
After the Cowtown Derby I was feeling confident in Mojo and in myself. The first go was extremely tough competition, the top portion of the class was marking well over 290 aggregates. Proving to be one of the toughest cow horse competions we have had. Drawing up last in the first go, knowing what I had to be proved to be a good thing. I knew the bar was high and I asked Mojo for everything and he gave me more. We walked away winning the first go with a 148 in the reining and a 150 down the fence.

Going into the second go I was feeling even better about my horse, we were feeling like a team. But the final day heavy rain rolled in about half way through warm up, forcing us inside to wait. Again there were huge scores and I had to ask him for everything again. He tried very hard to please but we just did not have the cow and the same luck as we did the first go.

Silver Sage Barrel Futurity 2012 June 1 to 3 :: Moneys First Kit AKA Money :: SHORT GO QUALIFIER
Brooks was another good futurity for us. Moneys first two goes were really good, placing second in the first go and placing deep in the second go. We went into the short go in second spot, but unfortunately we fell on our first barrel which dropped us to 7 over all. She still ran very well and very strong, just had some bad luck.

CowTown Derby 2012 May 25 to 27 :: Smart Like Solanos AKA Mojo :: OPEN BRIDLE CHAMPION & LIMITED OPEN BRIDLE CHAMPION
Claresholm Cowtown Derby was a very good show for Smart Like Solanos and I. Going into this show I had only had the opportunity to show him once previously before. So I wasn't real sure on how much I could push him or what I could ask for. So the first go we had a few bobbles in the rein work, so we were sitting tied for third after the first go. After my first go I was feeling a little more confident in what I could ask of him. Drawing up last in my class, knowing there were big scores on the board I asked him for everything and he gave it. We marked a 148 in the reining and a 148 in the cow work. It was such a relief to know that I could ask Mojo for everything and he would be there for me every step.

Classic Barrel Futurity 2012 May 18 to 20 :: Moneys First Kit AKA Money :: AVERAGE WINNER / RESERVE SHORT GO
Ponoka was a very successful first futurity for moneys first kit and myself. Money ran 3 very solid runs, winning the first go, placing deep in the second round and placing second in the short go. Being the first futurity I did not really know what to expect from her, but she performed very well and showed me she could handle the pressure.
